This month we welcome Howard Fishburn, an accomplished writer and music historian. This session of Conversations With… will be in-person only at King's Chapel Parish House. There will be light refreshments and socializing beginning at 5:30 and the speaker will begin at 6:00 pm.
About Howard:
Howard Fishman is the author of To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music, and Mystery of Connie Converse, a finalist for the Plutarch Award for Biography of the Year. He is a contributor to The New Yorker and The New York Times, and his writing has also appeared in Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, and The Boston Globe. His play, A Star Has Burnt My Eye, premiered at the BAM Next Wave Festival and was a New York Times “Critics Pick.” As a performing songwriter and bandleader, Fishman has toured internationally for over two decades. He has released eleven albums to date, is the producer of the album Connie’s Piano Songs: The Art Songs of Elizabeth “Connie” Converse, and recently directed the world premiere of Joan Mathieu's Diet Coke For The Dead at the Paradise Factory in New York City. He is based in Brooklyn.
