This stroll opens with views of Boston and East Cambridge from the water shuttle getting there! The group gathers on the Boston side at Long Wharf South to catch the 10:30 water shuttle to Charlestown where Walks! leader Irene Kochevar will meet us. In the Navy Yard we’ll see more of the Boston Triennial artworks on display this summer along with bronze sculptures of endangered species. A stroll along a shady avenue between historic Navy Yard granite buildings and on to the harbor boardwalk will bring us to the waterside restaurant Pier 6 for lunch. Pier 6 has 16 steps to reach the serving deck. We feel it’s well worth the effort, but want you to know in advance.
The walk is free, and guests are welcome. Registration is very highly recommended for BHV members, and guests, in order that your name is on the notification list in case of a weather cancellation. BHV members can register a guest themselves or contact the BHV Office to register their guest, guests must be registered in association with a BHV member. You will receive the complete meet-up details when you register.
