Cambridge Neighbors has invited Boston Village to join them as they wander through Northeastern University's accredited (since 2019) urban arboretum. Stephen Schneider, Director of Horticulture and Grounds, will personally guide us though parts of this beautiful 11-acre green space devoted to the planting and stewardship of at least 2,200 plants, including many trees, and close to 600 taxa of woody plants. It’s a living expression of Northeastern’s evolution from a barren landscape to an urban forest, from an urban commuter college into the lush and verdant university campus of today. They even have a koi pond! The tour route will be on level ground with numerous benches along the way. Optional self-pay lunch following.
