We'll cross the harbor to enjoy Harborwalk breezes from Maverick through Piers Park to the Institute of Contemporary Art's Watershed in the Jeffries Point section of East Boston. This summer's featured artist is Lucy Raven, an Arizonan. Her installation re-creates for us the recent removal of a monumental, century-old concrete dam along the Klamath River in Northern California, part of the biggest dam removal project in American history. It is accompanied by a dynamic soundtrack and displayed alongside a kinetic light sculpture. The film and sculpture together illustrate the forceful shaping of the landscape of Western America, begun long ago and continuing in the present. Lunch will follow at Aloe Natural across the way.
The walk is free, and guests are welcome. Registration is very highly recommended for BV members, and guests, in order that your name is on the notification list in case of a weather cancellation. BV members can register a guest themselves or contact the BV Office to register their guest, guests must be registered in association with a BV member. You will receive the complete meet-up details when you register.
