Bonnie Jones and Janet Stewart will lead us a short distance from the Alewife T station to the Alewife Brook Reservation Wetlands, a delightful sanctuary of winding trails, lush greenery, lily pads, and a natural habitat for swans and other wildlife. Created as a stormwater management project, the wetlands provide essential ecosystem functions as well as educational and recreational opportunities for the public. See why this was an award winning public works project! Lunch will follow at a nearby restaurant.
The walk is free, and guests are welcome. Registration is very highly recommended for BV members, and guests, in order that your name is on the notification list in case of a weather cancellation. BV members can register a guest themselves or contact the BV Office to register their guest, guests must be registered in association with a BV member. You will receive the complete meet-up details when you register.
