BV Walks! - VAN TRIP to Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain
When

Price
We will save our legs by taking a van to and from the cemetery. M J Shultz has arranged an hour-long tour guided by a local freelance historian, Dee Morris, who knows not only the history of this prime example of a rural garden cemetery but also the stories hiding in the cemetery’s plots. She gives the place new life! Forest Hills was laid out and designed by Henry Dearborn who also designed Mount Auburn cemetery and ended up preferring Forest Hills as the resting place for himself and his family. Dee
knows the details!
The walk and the use of the van are free, but the BV Walks committee has agreed to
Dee’s request for $5 from each participant in token recognition of her work in putting together our tour. If you intend to join the guided walk, M J will greatly appreciate exact change.
The van will return us to the North Station area where we will have lunch at Tavern in
the Square.
The walk is free, and guests are welcome. Registration is very highly recommended for BV members, and guests, in order that your name is on the notification list in case of a weather cancellation. BV members can register a guest themselves or contact the BV Office to register their guest, guests must be registered in association with a BV member. You will receive the complete meet-up details when you register.
