About the Panelists: 

Susan (Pui) Cheung, MD


Dr. Susan Cheung is a kidney doctor who trained at Massachusetts
General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is currently the
Medical Director of the Peritoneal Dialysis Program at Mass General.
Dr. Cheung cares for patients with kidney disease and those on dialysis.
She is passionate about helping patients and families understand their
health in simple, clear terms. She believes that when people truly
understand their condition, they feel more confident, make better decisions,
and take better care of themselves. Dr. Cheung works closely with each
patient to create personalized care plans that fit their lives and goals.

Nora Sanzone MA, RD, LD


Nora Sanzone is a registered dietitian with 25 years of specialized
experience in renal nutrition. She earned her Bachelor of Science in
Nutrition from University College Cork in Ireland, followed by a Master’s in
Nutritional Science and a Dietetic Internship at Syracuse University.
Over the past two and a half decades, she has worked as a Renal Dietitian
in both the Syracuse and Boston regions, providing individualized nutrition
assessment and education for patients on Hemodialysis and Peritoneal
dialysis and those living with chronic kidney disease. Her experience
includes 14 years with Gambro/DaVita Healthcare and 8 years with
NxStage/Fresenius Medical Care.


For the past 3½ years, she has been part of the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit at
Mass General Brigham, where she continues to deliver tailored nutritional
guidance to patients on home dialysis as well as individuals managing CKD
patient’s nutritional needs.


Outside of her professional work, she and her husband stay busy raising
their three children and navigating school schedules, sports activities, and
regular trips back to Ireland to visit family.

Ashley Paleski, MSW, LICSW

Ashley Paleski is Licensed Clinical Social Worker who currently works at
Massachusetts General Hospital supporting individuals on with advanced
CKD and those navigating dialysis. Ashley earned her Master of Social
Work at Simmions University with a Certificate in Health Care and Social
Work in 2021.


At Mass General Hospital, Ashley focuses on psychosocial support for
individuals within the Peritoneal Dialysis Program as well as for individuals
who are currently hospitalized and may be transitioning to hemodialysis.
She strives to ensure that individuals and their loved ones feel well
supported by their medical team as well as ensures they can begin to
develop and/or access community or mental health resources and/or
support. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her fiancée, friends, and
completing craft activities!
