Breathless in Boston: An Exploration of Lung Function in the Era of COVID-19 with 

Dr. Christopher Fanta, MD 

Dr. Fanta will take us on a tour of how our lungs work in health and disease including strategies to keep our lungs healthy and strong throughout our lives.  He will discuss the normal functioning of our lungs at rest and with exertion, their role in sustaining every cell in our bodies and common diseases of the lungs – acute and chronic – like bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma and COPD.  Dr. Fanta will also address the specific effects of COVID-19 on lung function.  He looks forward to answering your questions after his presentation.

Dr. Fanta is the Founder and Director of the Partners Asthma Center and a member of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  He is a graduate of and professor at the Harvard Medical School.  He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and the Harvard Medical School Guide to Taking Control of Asthma.

This virtual program is presented in partnership with the Boston Public Library, as part of Beacon Hill Village’s Living Well Ending Well series.
