Conversations with Each Other: Living Well After Lockdown
In the papers and on TV, we are all seeing that the strict COVID-19 measures of the spring are gradually being relaxed, in Massachusetts and elsewhere. Join a biweekly conversation with BHV members on Zoom to discuss what’s next. What's now allowed? What's soon to be allowed? What's still off in the distance? And what are your Beacon Hill Village friends actually doing with their newly restored freedoms?
There will be a conversation every other week to compare notes, to seek information, to offer information. How should you manage household help, whether regular (cleaning, home care) or occasional (repairs)? Are you dining out yet? Which places seem to be doing a good job, and which not so good a job, around COVID-19 precautions? Are you traveling by car? Would you use the T or commuter rail in Boston? What about a bus or train to a farther destination? Are you entertaining yet at home? What extra precautions are you taking concerning general cleanliness, concerning provisioning for that entertaining, concerning seating, concerning serving food? Would you have overnight guests, including out-of-state guests who may be subject to self-quarantine? Under what conditions?
We all by now know well the general COVID-19 guidance about handwashing, masks and social distancing. But is there other reliable emerging technical information that may help us all make better and better decisions about venturing out?
These questions are just illustrations. There is no plan to "manage" the conversations, though, if there are lots of participants, steps may be taken to ensure everyone who wants to gets to speak. We encourage members to join one or more sessions as they choose. Topics may well recur. They're conversations, not seminars! But we hope they will over time help all participants better understand what their choices are, what their peers are doing and avoiding, what uncertainties linger. Join in!
This event is for BHV members only. Registration is required. Free. This event is presented as part of BHV’s Living Well Ending Well series.
