Meet at 74 Joy St. at 10:00 a.m. to share UBER(s) over to FPZ
Meet at Zoo at 10:45 a.m.
Zoos have evolved significantly over the years. Many, including Franklin Park Zoo are now institutions for conservation, education, research, and species survival for animals in their care—often resulting in increased survival in the wild. Animals can be seen in exhibits that mimic their native habitats where they get physical and mental enrichment, in addition to top-notch medical care. Helene Weitzenkorn—FPZ Education Volunteer—will lead this 90-minute tour followed by a gourmet picnic lunch. Following lunch, participants will feed the giraffes, Chad and Amari. Afterwards, participants may stay longer to tour the zoo on their own. While there are some benches at a few of the exhibits, please expect to be on your feet for the duration. Bring sunscreen, water, a hat, and lightweight binoculars if you have them. BHV members only: $55 for zoo admission & tour, boxed lunch, giraffe feeding, and R/T taxis. Meet at 74 Joy St. at 10:00 a.m. to share UBER(s) OR meet at the main (Zebra) entrance near Circuit Drive and Blue Hill Ave at 10:45 a.m.
