A hidden gem tucked beyond Boston’s downtown parks, the James P. Kelleher Rose Garden dates back to 1931 and features over 1,500 roses behind its tall green yew hedge in the Back Bay Fens. On this leisurely hour-long walk, you’ll take in the sights and scents and meander the paths of the oldest continually operating Victory Garden in America. Take the “E” branch of the Green Line to the Northeastern T stop on Huntington Avenue. Meet BHV members Davida Carvin and Diana Crane and the rest of the group at 6:00 p.m. (or at 5:00 p.m. if you’d first like to share a cup of tea) at Cafe Tatte, 369 Huntington Avenue, near the corner of Forsythe Avenue, for a 5 minute walk to the Shattuck Visitor Center, 125 Fenway, the starting and ending point for the tour. Free.
